HYUNDAI TRANSYS is currently developing transmissions for commercial trucks and hydrogen trucks, as well as the shift control technology for autonomous driving and truck platooning.
In truck platooning, when the front truck starts driving, the following trucks follow the driving style of the leading vehicle. Trucks lined on the same path will be connected to each other and the cars behind the first leading truck receive real-time information of the leading truck. For example, if an obstacle or a person suddenly appears on the road, the lead vehicle will step on the brake. All the following trucks will perform the same function while maintaining the proper distance in between.
It eliminates all imperfections in safety since it will react faster than how a driver would react to unexpected variables. It becomes possible to transport more loads with minimum manpower within the limited amount of time.
