- Consistently Ranked among the Top 3 in Passenger Car and SUV Seat Satisfaction in the United States for 5 Consecutive Years … The Sole Korean Company to Achieve This Feat

HYUNDAI TRANSYS seats have proven their world-class quality competitiveness.

HYUNDAI TRANSYS clinched the top spot in the Small/Compact Car Seat category for Mass-Market Brands in the “2024 US Seat Quality and Satisfaction Study” published by J.D. Power, a prominent US market research firm, in August. The accolade was specifically for seats in the Kia Forte, showcasing the company‘s excellence in automotive seating solutions.

This year marks the first time HYUNDAI TRANSYS has claimed the top spot in the seat quality and satisfaction survey, solidifying its position and recognition as a global seat manufacturer.

The 2024 US Seat Quality and Satisfaction Survey measures the number of complaints and level of satisfaction experienced per 100 vehicles, targeting US purchasers and lessees who have owned a 2024 model for at least 90 days. This approach provides a comprehensive snapshot of seat quality perceptions among recent car buyers, and a lower score indicates fewer complaints, which, in turn, reflects high satisfaction with quality. A comprehensive survey was conducted from July 2023 to May 2024, encompassing 99,144 purchasers and lessees.

Since its integrated launch in 2019, HYUNDAI TRANSYS has consistently ranked among the top three in seat quality satisfaction surveys from 2020 to 2024, standing out as the sole Korean company to maintain this distinction year after year.

In 2020, Hyundai ACCENT and Kia Rio secured second and third positions, respectively, in the Small/Compact Car category for Mass-Market Brands. In 2021, Genesis G90 made its mark in the Premium Car category, with its seats clinching third place.

In 2022, the company achieved notable rankings in various vehicle segments: second place for the Small/Compact Car category (Kia Forte), second place in the Small/Compact SUV category (Kia Soul), and third place for the Midsize/Large SUV category (Kia Sorento). HYUNDAI TRANSYS continued to excel in the automotive market in 2023, securing second place with the Kia Rio (Small/Compact Car) and the Kia Sorento (Midsize/Large SUV) categories under Mass-Market Car and Mass-Market SUV and Truck/Van Segments, respectively.

Seo Seung-woo, Executive Director of the Seat Division at HYUNDAI TRANSYS, emphasized the company’s commitment, stating, “For the past 20 years, HYUNDAI TRANSYS has been at the forefront of seat development, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort while incorporating advanced technology and differentiated design.” He added, “We are committed to establishing ourselves as a top-tier seat manufacturer, delivering the highest quality products that satisfy not only domestic but also global customers, including those in North America.”

Meanwhile, HYUNDAI TRANSYS operates 33 global facilities across 11 countries to meet the demands of global automakers and ensure continuous revenue growth. The company conducts research, development, and production of power trains and seats in various locations across Georgia, Illinois, and Alabama in the United States, as well as in Monterrey, Mexico. These facilities serve as hubs for innovation and manufacturing in the automotive industry, showcasing the company‘s global reach and commitment to cutting-edge in-vehicle component technology.

In particular, with the completion of the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Savannah, Georgia, an electric vehicle–dedicated factory of Hyundai Motor Group, HYUNDAI TRANSYS’s Savannah facility is set to manufacture seats for electric vehicles, supporting the Hyundai Motor Group‘s global electrification efforts.
