HYUNDAI TRANSYS has earned a Gold rating for two consecutive years in the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment.
EcoVadis is a global sustainability assessment organization that evaluates companies’ environmental and social impact. It assesses over 100,000 companies across more than 170 countries in 4 themes—Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement —and awards Platinum (top 1%), Gold (top 5%), Silver (top 15%), and Bronze (top 35%) ratings.
HYUNDAI TRANSYS received a Silver rating in its first EcoVadis assessment in 2022. In 2023, it was elevated to Gold, recognized for its progress and improvement efforts in each evaluation theme.
In the 2024 assessment, HYUNDAI TRANSYS received high scores in the Labor & Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement themes, maintaining its Gold rating, awarded only to the top 5% of companies, for the second consecutive year.
In the Labor & Human Rights theme, HYUNDAI TRANSYS conducts human rights impact assessments across 20 domestic and international business sites, focusing on issues such as non-discrimination, industrial safety, the prohibition of forced and child labor, and the protection of local communities and customer rights. These assessments allow the company to monitor human rights risks and manage human rights practices. Through these efforts, the company enhances employees’ awareness of human rights and respect for diversity, preventing human rights risks.
Meanwhile, in the Sustainable Procurement theme, the company expanded Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-related training and evaluation from 15 partner companies in 2021 to 165 in 2024. In addition, to enhance the capabilities of its partner companies, it is leading the establishment of a sustainable supply chain by implementing production and process improvement systems and operating a technology escrow support system for technology protection.
Furthermore, HYUNDAI TRANSYS set a goal in 2021 to achieve “100% renewable energy transition by 2040” and is working toward 64% by 2030 and 100% by 2040. Currently, the company is installing solar power generation facilities at domestic and international sites through On-Site Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), enabling self-production and consumption of renewable energy, with plans to expand the applicable sites.
By achieving the Gold rating, HYUNDAI TRANSYS has proactively met the sustainability assessment scores required by global automakers for their suppliers, solidifying its foundation for global market expansion and sustainable management.
Cho Dong-kee Head of HYUNDAI TRANSYS’ Planning Division, stated, “By maintaining the EcoVadis Gold rating for two consecutive years, HYUNDAI TRANSYS has been internationally recognized for its efforts in sustainable management.” He added, “HYUNDAI TRANSYS will continue striving to establish a sustainable parts ecosystem that grows alongside the supply chain across all business sectors.”
